- 東京2025デフリンピックのデフリンピックスクエア内に設置された”Acupuncture care station “で活動させていただきました。
6日間で予想を遥かに上回り、アスリートと一般の方を合わせ856名もの方々にご利用いただきました。
フランス、ウクライナ、スロバキア、スウェーデン、ブルガリア、ブラジルなど世界中のアスリートのケアを担当できたことは、鍼灸師として大変光栄な経験でした。
この活動を通して深く学んだのが「Deafという文化」です。単に聴覚障害を指す「deaf (普通名詞)」ではなく、独自の誇りとアイデンティティを持った固有名詞としての「Deaf 」が存在すること。
手話をコミュニケーションの核とし、表情豊かでポジティブなマインドセットを持つ「Deaf文化」の素晴らしさに触れることができました。
健常者と変わらず高いパフォーマンスを発揮する選手たちの姿は、私たちに「何でもできる」という強いメッセージを投げかけてくれました。
人種、性別、そして障碍の有無に関わらず、互いの違いを認め、尊重し合うこと、試合でのフェアプレー精神は、そのまま共生社会の実現に繋がります。鍼灸を通じて、この国際交流と理解の一旦を担えたことを誇りに思います。
この経験を今後の活動に活かしてまいります。
We provided care for an incredible 856 people over 6days, far exceeding expectations! It was an honor to treat top athletes from around the world, including France, Ukraine, Brazil and many others.
The most profound lesson was learning about Deaf Culture. We discovered the distinction between the common noun deaf (hearing impairment) the proper noun Deaf, which embodies a strong pride,identity, culture centered around Sign language.
Deaf athletes compete at the highest level, demonstrating that anything is possible. Their vibrant expressions and positive mindset were truly inspiring.
The spirit of fair play on the field extends directly to realizing an inclusive society. We are proud that acupuncture could play a small part in this global exchange.
We will bring this invaluable learning back to our community activities.
